A little more on where you want to be an Au pair
Au pair Canada suggests that the next thing you need to think about once you have decided on the country you want to visit is where in the country? Again, I never gave this much thought. I come from a small town where we have loads of space. It isn’t the big city life, nor is it the quiet country life. It’s a perfect balance of peace and chaos. So I was okay with moving to either the countryside or the city.
I ended up in the country which is lovely but it’s a little isolated and that makes it harder when you are staying there for a long period. If you want to meet people and make friends, at Au pair Canada we believe that the city would be an easier place to do that. But this all depends on you and what you want. Take the time to think about this. Are you used to the city life? Then the country life could be a nice change, or it could be depressing and lonely. And visa versa. If you are a quiet, shy person from the country side, the city could be harsh and unforgiving and a little too fast paced for your liking. Do a bit of research on each in the selected country and try to make an informed decision.
Really try to picture yourself there after at least a month and think about if you would be happy. With this one however, it doesn’t matter what you pick, you will learn something from it. It would be preferable that you pick the environment you’ll be happiest in, but ultimately, you decide if you want to be happy. If you ended up picking the wrong thing, take it as a lesson and find a way to enjoy it.
