Age of children you want to care

The Age of the children you want to care, this is probably the most important thing to put on your list. Elite Au pair Canada suggests that you consider how well you work with children and how much you like them. Would you like to work with an infant that cries, vomits and soils itself regularly? I personally could not deal with that at all. The ideal ages I think are between 4 and 13. At these ages the children are fairly independent and will be much easier to work with. Guaranteed, there will be tantrums, no matter the age so just bare that in mind. In a perfect world, I think children aged 4 to 11 would be the best to work with as they are still cute and not hormonal but are very eager to be independent so you don’t need to tend them quite as much.

Entertaining the children you care

Before you register with Elite Au pair Canada, here you need to decide what you like to do for fun. Are a little bookworm or movie lover? Are you an adrenaline junkie? This is important because you don’t want to get a family of sporty kids who want to play in the mud when you’re the type of person who want to enjoy some popcorn and Netflix. Also, you don’t want to be the adventurer stuck inside bored out of your mind trying to engage with kids who are fixated on YouTube. I am a happy medium, I like to play outside and run around then once I’m dirty, I want to have a bath, some tea and read. But I like to play more than chill. I chose a family that likes to chill. Understandably, the weather was freezing while I was there but the kids were very into gaming. I can’t stand gaming. I hate everything about it. This caused a bit of an imbalance in my little brain. I don’t actually know how to play with kids through an online game. They often wanted me to watch them play or play with them. I would do it, but I wasn’t happy. It caused a lot of confusion for me in the sense that I didn’t know how to have fun with the children in a healthy, productive manner and it goes against everything I believe in to encourage anti-social behaviours. Now, I know a lot of people think gaming is okay, even cool. One of those people would have found it easier to work with these kids. So really think about this one because I thought that since I like to read and movies I would be able to cope but it was difficult for me to adapt, and I never truly did in this sense. The dad was okay with the kids doing this, but the mom wanted to encourage more activities into their lives. I found it very hard to think of ways to break them away from this and I don’t think I ever achieved it. This made it very difficult for me to establish a relationship with the children because I didn’t know what they liked to do for fun when they weren’t on their iPads so I couldn’t think of any enticing suggestions to get them to be more active. The children had their routine with their iPads and would get very snappy at me if I tried to pry them away so I soon gave up trying.
